After completing your female infertility evaluation, Dr. Richards may suggest an evaluation for your partner if he suspects the cause of infertility may be related to sperm production or quality.
During intrauterine insemination, your partner’s sperm is collected and inserted into your uterus during ovulation. This increases the likelihood of conception, although the sperm must still make the journey and fertilize your egg after insertion.
During in vitro fertilization, your egg is fertilized with your partner’s sperm in a laboratory. The fertilized egg grows up to five days in the lab environment and then the embryo is inserted into your uterus.
